    Krystiana Sankar, the kidnapped 24-year-old stepdaughter of Minister Stuart Young was freed by her kidnappers after her family paid a TT $167,000 ransom. The young woman was kidnapped by two armed men from the home of her ex-boyfriend located on Alfred Drive, Crystal Stream in the town of Diego Martin, the capital Diego Martin Region. The woman was forced into a van, which had blue and green stickers, possibly a power washing sign, and its back glass was shattered after someone threw a stone as the van drove away from the scene. Her family later received a call from the kidnappers demanding TT$200,000 ransom. Relatives picked up Sankar from the Morne Coco Road at around 2 a.m. after the ransom was paid and took her to the nearby Four Roads Police Station. She told police she was not harmed. Police said a 33- year- old suspect is in custody. (, 13 April 2018 &, 13 April 2018)
