    At around 9:54 a.m. a lone gunman armed with a semi-automatic weapon opened fire at Tree of Life synagogue located at Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During the attack, which took place as a bris ceremony was being held at the facility, the shooter reportedly made anti-Semitic statements. Eleven people were killed in the attack and six were wounded, including four police officers. Following brife fire exchange with police officers, the attacker, identified as 46-year-old Robert Bowers surrendered and was arrested.
