At around 17:00 local time, a Moroccan national in a rented van carried out a vehicular attack targeting tourists and local pedestrians in Las Ramblas--a popular tourist street--in the center of Barcelona. At least 13 people were killed in the vehicular attack and 120, including nationals from some 24 countries, were wounded. The lone attacker managed to flee the scene on foot and is still being hunted by police. Police arrested two people, including the brother of the 28-year-old attacker who he claimed used his documents to rent the van. A German tourists scumbed to her injuries ten day after the attack.
