At around 10:00 p.m., two radicalized Pakistani born British nationals and Morocco born Italian national, carried out two attacks in London. The trio rammed pedestrians on the London Bridge with a rented van and continued driving to Borough Market area where they stabbed passersby. Police shot and killed the three attackers who were wearing fake suicide vests. Eight people were killed in the attacks and 48 were wounded, including several foreign nationals. The Islamic State via its Amaq news agency claimed responsibility for the attack.
